The season was another success, the boys ran well and worked hard. The boys team took 18th in the state in Division III. Out of 254 total runners, Sophomore Ivan Westgate finished 58th, with a time of 17:09.2. Other Wildcats runners were senior Matt Doyle (17:36.5 - 118th), sophomore Ethan Goodrow (17:53.7 - 140th), sophomore Blake Klocke (18:01.9 - 151st), freshmen Jonah Rankin (18:29.8 - 183rd), sophomore Adam Smith (19:00.0 - 213th) and junior Eli Mckown (19:10.4 - 221st).
Coach Mozena couldn't have been more proud of them, but the continued success pushes the bar higher. Next years goal is to finish in the top ten at the State meet. Hard work and dedication will be needed to accomplish that goal. "I know that the team can do it, I have a lot of faith in them. I would also like to win the league title as well. We had a get season but let's not be satisfied with that." Again Thanks to the team and parents for making the season a success and enjoyable.
The girls team also wrapped up their season with senior, Lauren Goodrow participating in the 2017 MHSAA State Individual Finals. In a field of 245 runners in Division III, Lauren finished with a time of 20:20.2 which was good for 67th place overall. What a great way to finish off her high school career.
Congratulations to all the Wildcat runners for a tremendous year.
