The Boys Cross County teams continues to shine as they take first place in the 2017 Nick Haynes Invite in Whiteford.  Onsted totaled 16 points and was 1st out of 14 teams.  This is the team's second 1st place finish (tied for 1st in the County Preview) of the season.  They also placed 2nd at the Keunner Invite at Addison earlier this year. 

Leading the way in the freshmen group was Johan Rankin who finished the 3rd best freshmen with a time of 18:26.  Also completing were Kyle Bayes (21:06) and Cordell Kowalyk (26:29), who finished 10th and 25th respectively amongst 9th graders.  In the sophomore group, Ivan Westgate (16:52) finished 1st, while right behind him was teammate Ethan Goodrow who was second amongst 10th graders with a time of 17:12.  Blake Klocke (17:50, 7th) and Logan McRobert (19:06, 10th) also finished in the top ten in the sophomore flight.  The upper classmen were paced by seniors Matt Doyle (17:13), who finished with the 3rd best time in the senior group, Nick Doyle (22:25 - 35th) and junior Elijah McKown (19:45 - 17th best in 11th grade).

Overall on the day, the Wildcats had 3 runners (Westgate -3rd overall, Goodrow - 5th, M Doyle - 6th) finish in the top ten among 147 total runners. 

The Wildcats travel to Springport on Wednesday, Sept. 6th to compete in the Springport Invitational.
