The JV Football team improved their record to 2-2-1 with a victory last night over LCAA opponent Hillsdale. The Wildcats JV football team defeated the Hornets of Hillsdale 23-8 to get their 2nd win of the season. Josh VanEtten had 2 rushing touchdowns. Cooper Lake also had also had a rushing touchdown, as well as catching a pass from Dylan Terryberry for a 2pt. conversion. Tyler Hunt capped the scoring with run for a 2 pt. conversion.
Once again the defense came up big for the Wildcats all night allowing just one touchdown. On that score, the defense was given a short field to work with after a failed fake punt on the Onsted half of the field. The defense held strong on a first and goal from the 1 yd line, forcing the Hornets to go for it on 4th down. The entire defensive group played outstanding.
The Wildcats return to the field on Thursday, September 28th, as they travel to Columbia Central to take on the Golden Eagles. Game time is 6:00pm.
